Your 2nd Amendment Rights

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.

Some of the national mortgage field service firms treat you as an employee and NOT as an independent contractor. Mortgage field inspectors have told me that some of the national mortgage field service firms have restricted the rights of their field service representatives in saying that they could not carry a weapon with them while performing field service inspections despite the fact that they have a permit to carry such a concealed weapon.

I have a concealed weapons permit. I have the right to carry a concealed weapon in accordance with the 2nd amendment of the US Constitution and the laws of Florida and many other states. Can a national mortage field services firm restrict an independent contractor from carrying a concealed weapon in the public? Does such a restriction create an employee relationship to the national mortgage field services firm? Would the IRS look at firm's policy of restricting the carrying of a concealed weapon with a Government-issued permit and determine that the inspector is an employee and not an independent contractor?

What is happening today is that a national mortgage field service firm can send you into a crime-infested neighborhood such as the Badlands of Philadelphia and order you not to carry a concealed weapon to protect yourself. Are you an employee or an independent contractor? You are being paid $3... $4 ... $5 ... is enter a neighborhood with a well documented record of high crime ... injuries and deaths from gang violence ... and then you are ordered not to carry a concealed weapon to protect yourself if attacked by a gang.

Some states allow the concealed carry of weapons into a bar. But, national mortgage field service firms are telling field service inspectors that they cannot carry a concealed weapon into neighborhoods were the risk of injury or death has been documented as being extreme. Who is looking out for the wellfare and safety of the field inspector? Jerry, in New Jersey, was beat up by gang members and did not work again for over six months. Are you scared? You should be!

My advise is to pass on the $3 ... $4... $5 mortgage inspections in the bad neighborhoods. Don't risk your life for pennies. You will wear out you vehicle with these cheap mortgage inspections. Go to a bad neighborhood and you could end your life or not work for six months, like Jerry. Make good decisions ... live life.

The sweet spot in the field services industry is commercial inspections ... higher quality firms and higher fees.
