Fannie-Mae examples of interior debris that are not authorized to be removed include but are not limited to:
Alcohol, antifreeze, canned goods, cleaning agents, gas cans, medicine/syringes, oil, paint cans, paint thinner, pesticides, pool chemicals, pressurized tanks, propane tanks, tires, and toiletries.
Make sure you know and understand the NEW Fannie Mae guidelines. You will not be paid for unauthorized debris removal.
Shown here is a fire-damaged clothes dryer in a garage in an abandoned Fannie-Mae property. It is about 1-cubic yard of interior debris.
Fannie Mae will allow $20 to remove and properly dispose of this fire-damaged dryer. The national field service firm ordering the removal will take a 20% discount ($4). The property preservation mechanic will be paid $16 to drive it to the landfill where a dumping fee most likely will be required. This is not a lot of money when you consider all of the associated time and expenses to move this dryer to the landfill.
