Sand Castle and A2Z may pay much more per inspection, but how much volume can you expect? I do thousands of LPS inspections per month for the "low fee", and yes, occasionally I do have to drive a 100 mile round trip for $3 or $5 bucks, but it's part of the package deal. You take the good with the bad.

Furthermore, it does not take hours to figure out a bad address talking to the assessor. I have an $80 per month subscription to a service that gives me access to every assessor's database in California, and I can usually find any property within a couple of minutes.

Yes, we would all like to make more money per inspection, but in the default mortgage industry, the money is in volume and efficiency, not per inspection.
