JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM)’s next round of job cuts will come in its mortgage division, according to CNBC’s source. The bank will eliminate 1,800 jobs in New York and Florida.
Bank of America has cut about 14,000 positions in its mortgage servicing department.
The U.K. banking industry has also sustained numerous bank cuts. By the end of this year, the top four banks in Britain will slash 189,000 jobs. That’s a 24 percent decrease in the number of employees working in the banking industry at U.K. banks.

Your email address is important. It says a lot about you. An inspector named Edward was using an email that contained Richard in it. What is that all about? It's confusing.
The owner (great guy) of a field services firm passed last year. He will be missed, but not forgotten. The firm he owned still uses his name (not part of his company name) in emails. He lives on and on.

The Government has a CASH for Fraud program called the False Claims Act. Do you work in the office of a company that is cheating the Government? Does the firm falsify bids to the Government? This happens every day in the mortgage segment of the industry.
An office worker can be rewarded with millions of dollars on a fraud complaint under the False Claims Act. Stop fraud and be rewarded big time.
If you are aware of fraud in your office and do not report it, you could be charged with the felony charge of obstruction of justice.

When you are self-employed, you need a backup to the backup to the backup to the backup. You are at risk when you are not diversified and work for only one national field services firm. If the firm for which you provide services decides to not use your services any longer, you will crash and be upside down with no income stream. For job security, you need to be diversified. Your risks will be greatly reduced when you work for more than one national or regional field services firm.
Working for another inspector working for a national or regional firm can create significant risk to your business. The performance of the other inspector could affect your job. If they get fired, you will lose all of your work.
Reduce your risks. Get diversified. Provide services to multiple field service firms. Working for just one firm is very high risk. Don't take risks.

When is the best time to send out your field services resume?
Anyone who’s worked in an office environment knows that Mondays are usually extremely hectic. Everyone’s trying to catch up on their emails and phone calls, and there usually isn’t a lot of time to spare, especially on things that are not urgent, like reading resumes. The first thing most people do when reading emails is prioritize and figure out what needs to get done sooner rather than later – resumes, especially ones sent days ago, usually fall into the “later” pile.
The point is that you want to be sure that your resume is noticed. Sending them out on the weekend not only puts your email toward the back of the line chronologically, but it also puts it among the spam messages that have filled up the in-box, and you don’t want to accidentally get deleted.
The best days for emailing resumes is Tuesday and Wednesday. Stay away from both sides of the weekends when you can.

I am NOT a fan of the low-fee MORTGAGE INSPECTIONS. These inspections pay $3 ... $4 ... $5 and they are the source of 99% of all of the problems in the field services industry. Aim higher ... the insurance and commercial segments include much higher quality firms that pay much higher fees.
Mortgage inspections mean low fees ... maybe no pay ... police ... bad neighborhoods ... tons of photos (about 7 for every property) to manage, tag, date, upload ... dogs ... gangs ... guns ... rural ... no trespass signs ... required insurance ... The national mortgage field service firms pay too little and want too much. You can get thousands of these low-fee mortgage inspections because no one wants them ... the inspector turnover is tremendous. Mortgage inspection paid more twenty years ago than they do today. Mortgage inspections are the DEAD SPOT. Commercial inspections are the sweet spot.

You will love the $3 ... $4 ... $5 mortgage inspections that usually require seven photos. You will probably not get paid for the inspection if you skip the photo required of the rear of the house taken from inside the fenced backyard.
Ops ... not vacant as you might think. Bosco is waiting for you in the back yard. He is waiting behind the bid red Azalea bush and is ready with an open month to give you a warm welcome to his backyard. This is his hunting grounds.
Is entering a fenced backyard a trespass? The dog's owner will claim you trespassed when you entered the fenced yard. Ask your attorney who with prevail in court. My guess is that the owner will prevail.
Residential insurance inspections can also bring you into contact with dogs. Commercial inspections is the better place to be.

Some of our nation's most guarded secrets have been compromised as we see in the news almost every day. Pentagon, CIA, NSA secrets are openly discussed in the news.
I trained at the National Security Agency (NSA) in signals intelligence collection for six months. The world has changed today. My idea of the world of secrets is that you would give your life to protect the secrets of our nation. I swore that I would protect our nation's secrets. I never violated my oath. Today, Pentagon, CIA, NSA secrets are openly discussed in the news.

So for example, I just did a job that was 48 miles from my home. It was a 34,000 square foot building which was very complex, with complex ownership as well. My total time on the job, phone calls, driving, internet research, high-resolution scanning, etc. was 8 hours. I billed for 4. I got paid for 2. So that makes a total of $9.25 per hour. Oh, I forgot the gas money. Take $32 spent on gas out, and that leaves me a whopping $5.25 per hour of my time.
You
should charge a minimum of $25 an hour for a commercial inspection. You
need to compute on-site time, drive-time and report-time in your
calculations. You need to add vehicle expenses ... 56.5-cents a mile is
what the IRS says it cost to operate your vehicle. Add all of this up
and this is your minimum price to perform the inspection. If the offered
fee is low, you need to negotiate a price.

Field service inspections are a great gap filler. If you have some extra daylight hours on weekdays, you can perform some field inspections part-time and make some extra money.
Pastors, real estate agents, notary signing agents, police, firemen, real estate appraisers, taxi drivers, process servers, couriers, sales people and many others perform field inspections to make some extra money to pay bills or buy new toys. A small business will also help you write off a lot of your business expenses such as telephone, internet, digital camera, auto expenses and many more expenses.

Last year, whistleblowers filed nearly 650 actions under the False Claims Act—a record number. The department said it recovered a record $3.3 billion in whistleblower suits in 2012. WOW!

Field service firms profits explode when they can classify their field service representatives as independent contractors.
Everyday I see more and more examples where field service firms are digging their own graves by treating their representatives more and more as employees.
Federal and State Govenment wants more employees and fewer independent contractors. It's all about taxes ... bringing more money to the Government treasuries.
Field service firms are doing a great job of digging their own graves. Keep it up ... treat your field service representatives like employees and watch the Government reclassify your field service representatives as employees. It will happen soon and the national mortgage field service firms will be in the lead.

The Second Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects the right to keep and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest of the Bill of Rights.
Some of the national mortgage field service firms treat you as an employee and NOT as an independent contractor. Mortgage field inspectors have told me that some of the national mortgage field service firms have restricted the rights of their field service representatives in saying that they could not carry a weapon with them while performing field service inspections despite the fact that they have a permit to carry such a concealed weapon.

Some of the national field service firms believe that field service inspectors are STUPID.
One field service firm sends work to inspectors by posting jobs at their web server. The location of the inspection site is listed, but there is NO description of the scope of the work or the inspection fee paid. Yet, they ask inspectors to ACCEPT the jobs posted.
Can you image how STUPID an inspector would have to be to accept an inspection without knowing the SCOPE of the work and the FEE? Do you want to work half a day inspecting and reporting on a property to 30-days later learn that the inspection fee was only $25?

If you like flying low, then you will enjoy mortgage inspections where the fees are about as low as they can get. Mortgage inspectors typically earn $3 ... $4 ... $5 for a drive-by inspection that often requires seven digital photos.

Legal Services ... New York Attorney Will Mail Demand Letter To Non-Paying Customer
|
|
Does your customer owe you money? A demand letter from an attorney to your non-paying customer will often bring results.
This personal legal service provides for a third-party New York attorney to mail one First Class letter to one customer demanding that they pay you for the services you provided to them. This is a great price for this legal service ... most attorneys will not even talk to you when you are offering them only $50 to pay for such personal demand letter services.
Place your order and the New York attorney will contact you direct by email or telephone and request information such as the contact information for your non-paying customer and the balance owed. The New York attorney will use this information and send a First Class letter demanding payment.
Attorney letters often bring results. When a non-paying customer receives such a letter, they know that you are very serious about collecting the debt. You have retained an attorney and they will believe that you will continue legal action until such time as you receive the balance owed to you. While such attorney letters often bring good results, there is no guarantee that you will get paid.
SOFI does not offer legal services. We are merely providing advertising for a New York attorney in good standing with the New York Bar Association.

The MORTGAGE SEGMENT is the home of $3 ... $4... $5 mortgage inspections (the lowest fees in the industry) and 99% of all of the problems in the field services industry. I talked to an inspector today was offered a commercial inspection that paid a fee of $25. After learning about some of the details about the property, it was obvious that the fee was very low. The fee should have been in the $100 - $150 range.
I suggested that the inspector just say No to the offer. When a firm is offering a very low fee, it is best just to say No and not even try to negotiate a higher fee. They think you are stupid and that you have no math skills. They are all about GREED ... they are tightwads ... and they may offer you a higher price and then try to find something wrong with the report so that they don't have to pay you. The firms offering cheap fees upfront are just playing games. They don't care about quality work. Don't play their games. Politely walk away.

One of the national MORTGAGE field service firms is REQUIRING that their field service inspectors purchase business cards at the inspector's expense to PROVE to the IRS that they are independent contractors and not employees.
This business card REQUIREMENT provides SOLID PROOF that the inspector is being treated as an EMPLOYEE and not as an independent contractor. The firm is treating the inspector as an employee by demanding that they purchase business cards. It's bad enough that these national MORTGAGE field service firms treat inspectors as employees, but these inspectors should be offended that they are being also treated as a STUPID person who cannot recognize that they are being manipulated.

His point 3 was on Order. He said "Let all things have their places. Let each part of your business have its time". His point 6 on Industry was "Lose no time. Be always employed in something useful. Cut all all unnecessary actions". This is great advice ... now let me show you how to apply it.

Are you just sitting around waiting for an apple to fall from a tree? Waiting for a Craig's List job to land in your lap?
Starting and growing a field services business requires marketing your services. You will need to email and call potential customers. You need to introduce yourself to potential customers. You will need to advertise your services. If you have no communications skills ... you are screwed.
If this is not your cup of tea, then forget about being self-employed. You will never make it as an entrepreneur. Don't waste your time. You might be better off as a union worker in a Government job.

The PDF format is a well recognized format in the business world. The Adobe ACROBAT READER used to read PDF files is a FREE application for PCs and Macs at www.adobe.com. Version 11 is the latest version.
Microsoft Word is NOT a free application. Usage requires a license. Many firms only have Microsoft Word on just a few computers because of the licensing expense. The PDF format has the ability to exist independently from the hardware, software and operating system (OS) used to create or view the PDF document.
If you want your resume read, use the PDF format and no other format for your resume.

Are you a field inspector daredevil? Do you take too many risks. Do you like to take risks?
When you are self-employed, you need to be well diversified. You need to work for more than one field services firm. Security is very important. You need to avoid risks.
When you are self-employed, you need to work for high-quality firms. The risks are significant when working for other inspectors and when working for firms that advertise in Craig's List and at Yahoo groups. You need to perform a Better Business Bureau (BBB) check on firms BEFORE you start work for them. ALWAYS ask a hiring firm for five inspector references and call them. Network with other field service representatives and share information. Information is power!
